The online course provides an overview of the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 and the federal requirements of the various child nutrition programs, including National School Lunch, School Breakfast, Child and Adult Care Food Program and Summer Meals program. Additionally, short trainings cover the basics of nutrition label reading and the importance of and techniques for reducing sodium in school foods. Additionally, the course highlights the importance of increasing children's consumption of fruits and vegetables. The course concludes with a discussion about ways to market healthier school meals. Pre and post tests are included in this training.
